For all you Shadow fans who’ve ever been thrown down a bottomless pit due to a bad lightspeed dash, now you know why.

As for why I felt compelled to include a computer room reference when so many others already have, hey, the more we make fun of it, the less likely Sega will put it in another game. (Well, that and I’m lazy.)

I’m sure pretty much everyone knew what Sonic’s Surprise was. We would have done this back in June but we had a few other ideas we wanted to plough through first. And we wanted to make sure our jokes had that true Power Rings bent that you’ve come to enjoy. Though I was a little surprised. I figured we’d get at least a couple nasty letters at the implied three-way joke.

Guess this means we have to try harder next time.

Gasp! Intrigue!

Not to mention this is first time Big ever had lines in our comic. It’s not that hate the…little…guy–Gear is especially fond of the lug–it’s just Big is the quietest chara in the Sonic universe and when we’re looking for chara to skewer in our tasteless jokes, he just tends to fly under the radar.

Right now, though, the larger question now is, will Sonic survive this conspiracy against him? But if you know us you should already know the answer to that one. *evil grin*

You know what the sad part about this comic is? These are all real complaints I’ve heard from Sally-haters.

Now we here at Power Rings may skewer Sonic and his friends from time to time, but this is merely to parody. As in, it’s all meant in jest. But when I found a group that I will not identify but merely refer to as the Pill Tally Flub, I have to say I was rather repulsed.

At first, I thought they were joking around, like we do on occasion, but they were acting in all seriousness. To think there was a Flub of people that hated Tally so much, they wanted to Pill her!

Logistics of said enterprise aside, what is the point? I can’t like every single chara that’s ever popped out of the Sonic universe, and I don’t expect everyone else to do the same. But if you don’t like a chara, then don’t like them. But that doesn’t give you the right to demand they no longer exist.

Now we may catch flak for posting this comic. You may be readying an email right now, and are scanning these words to find something you can use against me. I can handle that. I have never hidden my preference for Sally. But that’s all it is. A preference. I’d never consider demanding the head of Amy or Mina or Fiona or any other chara that happens to cross paths with Sonic in the future.

You know what? I had to analyze the original script to find the proper memes and I still don’t get it. This particular development in Sonic’s love life came so far out of left field, I don’t think anyone knows what to think about it. For the longest time Fiona has been treated no better than background noise, then on a whim she’s making out with the main freakin’ character. Compared to this, Sonic and Bunnie made more sense.

I was reading the more recent issues of Sonic, and there was something that kept nagging at me. Does anybody else notice that in every panel where Sonic and Fiona are making googly-eyes at each other, Tails and Sally both seem to be somewhere in the background watching as if it’s nothing out of the ordinary? I’d imagine they’d have much different reactions, as illustrated.
