I hope you’ll all forgive me for this, but it’s been very cathartic.

I know there are some people here who have found Power Rings through my account on FF.net. Whenever I write something, I post it up there too to promote the comic. I also know there are many people there who wonder why I don’t write more. The reason is simple: I like to try and write believable stories, using the actual characters, not completely butchering their characters to make them fit some fanboyish fantasy involving them at school or meeting me personally or what have you. I spend a lot of time when I sit down to write debating in my head how best to write for the characters, as people I’ve used as idea sounding boards will attest. And yet, it’s mostly for naught.

Anyone who visits or posts on FF.net will understand immediately the points I’m trying to hammer home in this comic. If not, just visit the Sonic section of the site for a few minutes, and you will. Oh, you will. Though I don’t particularly recommend it.

Also, for anyone who has been there before, can someone explain to me this strange fascination some Sonic fanfic writers have with making the characters into werewolves or vampires?

So I hear Tails decides to grow a pair and join the fray in Sonic Rivals 2. I know Amy isn’t confirmed, I just thought this would be a better alternative than whoever Sega’s got planned.

Interesting coincidence: Ian is about to foster his own Sonic/Tails rivalry in the comic. Here’s hoping Sonic gets knocked down a peg for real, eh?

Sorry, delay in getting the necessary sprites. We’ll return on Thursday!

So, Sega Splash Golf. Sega’s MMO golf game for the PC in Japan. You get to make your own golfer and have popular characters like NiGHTS, Ulala, and Sonic be your caddy.

I know Sonic is Sega’s corporate shill, but let’s be honest. The only thing more boring than PLAYING golf is watching OTHER PEOPLE play golf. And Sonic has a hard enough time standing still for anything at all. But at least he hasn’t had it as bad as Amy in the past.

Before anyone asks us, no, this does NOT mean we’re ending Power Rings.

Tune in Thursday to see where we’re going with this!

Sorry, everybody, but we’ve been having some troubles this weekend that have kept us from updating. But we’ll have an update on Monday, and we’ve got a plan to try and keep our update schedule going at a somewhat regular pace again!

I don’t know what’s what’s worse, that the girls can be shoehorned into the harem clichés so easily, or that they know what those clichés are. (Wait. Does that mean they’re otaku? That’s hot.)

Oh, no. Does that mean Cream is the imouto chara? >.<

SONIC X BLAZE 4EVA!

I’m sorry, I don’t know where that came from…

Okay, I couldn’t help weighing in on this issue…

Yes, it is an Incentive Zone. Why do you ask?

Well, Antoine got his comeuppance. I hope you’re all satisfied. 🙂

Yeah, as pathetic as Antoine is, you have to admit, somehow he managed to bag Bunnie. That has to count for something.

Circumstances prevented us from updating on time on Thursday. There might be filler on Friday, but tune in on Saturday for sure!

Here’s the update! I know it’s late in the day, but we’re just following the trend set by the new Smash Bros. Brawl website. Why yes, I AM still a little irked by that.

So Antoine and Bunnie got married. I find it hard to get behind it, personally, as I still have trouble understanding why they’re even together. But anyway, last time someone got married in the comic (and I’m not including Sally’s marriage to Patch, since that lasted all of one issue), it was Geoffrey and Hershey, and they left on their honeymoon at the end of the arc. That was three years ago and we haven’t seen them since. This comic stemmed from my fear that the same would happen to Antoine and Bunnie; that their wedding would marginalize their characters and cause them to fall out of the spotlight (I mean, even moreso than they already are). We’ll have to see what Ian’s planning.

Now before our Antoine fans decide to boycott us, come back on Monday and I guarantee you will like us again. I swear.

Hey, at least it’s not 300 Sonic clones.

“How cool are you?”

“WAY PAST!!!”

It’s finally here! Our 300th update! Sorry for the inevitable disappointment!

Oh, and PLEASE don’t post this on Ian Flynn’s forum.

And now, we’re going on vacation. I know what a lot of you are thinking, that it feels like we’ve already BEEN on vacation, but I assure you that hasn’t been the case. We’ve been working consistently trying to finish this update, between our previous idea falling apart and then having to create this. That, and things just aren’t working out now. When we began Power Rings, we didn’t think we’d be around this long, to be honest. Also, back then, we had more time. Now we’re running low on time and in some cases drive. As a result, the comic has suffered. We’ve hardly been able to make two updates a week, let alone three. Well, we want to change that.

Power Rings is not going to end. Hell, Sega recently revealed the new characters in the upcoming Sonic Rush Adventure (CAPTAIN FUCKING WHISKER). We can’t stop NOW. Not when Sega keeps throwing this stuff at us. All this means to you is that we’ll be rethinking how we do the comic. When we return, we may cut the update schedule down to about twice a week to see if that helps any, and some behind-the-scenes processes will change. But when we return, we’ll be delivering the same irreverant, sick, twisted, diabolical humour you’ve come to expect from Power Rings.

Power Rings will return officially around May 24. But between then and now, expect to see a couple of fillers by friends of the comic to celebrate this milestone!
