On Sega’s SoTH website, Blaze’s profile says that she has to wear a special cloak to control her flame powers, even though it lists her as being a queen instead of the princess she was in Sonic Rush. That implies that should have mastery over her powers by now; at least does to me.

But, hey, I’m sure Sega knows what they’re doing!

…These are the laws of the cartoon universe.

Yes, everyone will be coming back by Monday. Could you imagine if Sonic and Tails were the only chara in that entire universe? What would happen? Run around collecting rings? Defeating Robotnik again and again? Boring!

I, of course, am joking. Ha ha.

Ever since Ian Flynn took over writing duties of the comic, all of his stories have been devoted to tying up loose ends (we refer to it as “house cleaning”) created by Karl Bollers and Ken Penders. In many instances, though, this has meant killing off a good deal of characters. For instance, all the characters trapped in Robotnik’s Egg Grape contraptions are dead, particularly Remington, many echidnas and Dark Legion members, and all the Fire Ants minus Archimedes. In resolving the Sword and Crown deal, he killed Sir Connery who used his last bit of strength to destroy both items (which, by extension, means the Source of All is probably gone). The Ancient Walkers were killed. Uma Arachnis’ children were killed. M was destroyed. Nack’s gang are supposedly dead.

Needless to say, Ian’s time in the comic has been one hell of a killing spree.

So when it came time for us to decide on a killer, we knew we had only one choice.

Arc concludes Friday!

It seems we have crossed one too many lines in our search for the bigger punchline. I am, of course, referring to Wednesday’s untimely passing of Shadow the Hedgehog.

Despised by the old, revered by young, he was nevertheless a lightning rod, a touchstone, one big fat target, for the entire Sonic fandom. In his image we saw both market metrics gone awry and a revitalization of a stagnant franchise.

And I’d just like to say, if I’d known Wednesday’s comic would generate this much response, I’d have done it sooner.

HA!

Okay, calm down, those of you whom I’ve riled. I did that to make a point. That no matter how much you adore a particular chara, there has to be room to be able to laugh at them.

We’ve made fun of Sonic, of Tails, of Knuckles, of Sally, and of everyone else relentlessly. Shadow is not untouchable.

We’re Power Rings. We never take ourselves seriously. And that’s all we ask of you.

A bit late today, but here it is!

Technically Remington is already dead, so really, we’re just correcting a minor oversight.

In other news, Sonic Channel released the next Sonic character profile, and apparently Wave is listed as being 18. This makes her the first legal female in the Sonic cast (yes, Rouge is only 17, believe it or not). In response to this, I have written a rant that can be found on the forum’s Rant section.

I’m not completely without regret saying it, but Rotor has been next to useless ever since SatAM left the airwaves. The major contributions he used to make are now more than adequately handled by other chara and he’s been relegated to BG filler in his last few appearances.

Ten-to-one the nanite threat coming up in the next few issues will be handled by Tails. Far as I’m concerned we did him a favour killing him off.

Yes, I’m evil. Why do you ask? >:D

If you will grant me this moment of immaturity…

When Sonic’s involved, isn’t every time a quickie?

Ooooooh!
