Of course, the best way to patch up plotholes is to make sure they never happen in the first place. But, oh, well.

Maybe it’s just a limitation of any serialized media. I know the fastest way to write yourself into a corner is to not have a clear idea of where to have your charas end up, a Point “B” they can travel to. But with a beast like Sonic the Hedgehog you can’t have a Point “B.” If you did, the comic would be over.

This doesn’t mean I think the book should end. Just have the writers act as if it was. It would probably get them to tighten up their writing. I mean, look at shows like Enterprise. This season has arguably been the best, and why? Because the writers know they won’t have a chance to work on it again. And I wonder what Archie would do if they imagined themselves in the same position.

And then I usually wind up in fits of laughter. But, oh, well…

Y’know, just putting their parents’ backstories all together like that really lets you appreciate just how messed up this comic’s gotten.

Plus, Abby definitely wins the Most Useless Chara of the Year award: Stereotypical behaviour, no real origin, doesn’t advance the plot in the slightest. And considering what previous members of her species and pretty much evey animal in this book look like, she sticks out like a photorealistic sore thumb.

Here’s hoping she doesn’t show up in the sequel.

Assuming there ever IS a sequel. Knock on wood.

See what you get when you question my author-ity? Ha haóokay, that wasn’t even remotely funny.

Concerning the prophecized nuptuals of Tails and Mina, I personally don’t believe it will happen. Considering only Mina’s head and one of her boots shows up in the entire saga, it just screams, “We need to fill a panel here!”

Do YOU remember where YOU were when Bob and George collapsed in on itself? I do. I was getting a processor upgrade when I heard a loud pop. At least it was quick and clean and those poor Megaman recolours didn’t have to suffer much.

No. We’re not seriously suggesting that Dan will still be reviewing comics in 25 years’ time. Because we all know he’ll be held in some nice padded room somewhere, and his website set to update his reviews for him with a graphic of Jay Sherman proclaiming, “It stinks!” for every issue.

You can see the effect of 25 years of comicking on myself, as well. After crippling my arms with Carpal-Tunnels’, I had to have them cybernetically replaced. No, they don’t bother me. Works wonders on those pushy salesmen.

The plague of the cold is finally past us, so now we can return to regular updates! That’s assuming any of you are still reading at this point. The activity on the forum would seem to indicate not. But we shall soon see, won’t we?

And yes, that is Kamal after 25 years. It’s frightening to think we’ll still be doing this in 25 years…

In other news, I have an exam on tuesday. Wish me luck.

And thus another generation of absentee fathers is born.

Something struck me as odd while reading M25YL. Knuckles has a daughter and a sorta-wife and never once did he show any kind of…hmm…what’s the word? Love.

He shows concern well enough when Lara locks herself in the bathroom, but the entire conversation plays out like, “Don’t disappoint me and embarass me in front of my friends, pretty please?”

I don’t know if this is somehow Sega’s meddling or Ken’s lack of insight, but twenty-five years is a very long time to stay moody. Lighten up, Knux.

G30FF

Sorry we’re so late. It would have been up sooner today, but I had two final exams today. I’m gonna go find a place to drop dead now.

Oh, and Kamal has officially caught Gear’s cold as I predicted. We likely won’t have a strip on Friday.

Ah, they grow up so fast, don’t they? Yeah, I guess not.

Sorry about the lack of update last Friday. As I said on wednesday, Gear has come down with a cold, and since this saga requires a good deal of custom sprites, without his efforts we’re stuck. We’ll try to keep our regular update schedule for the rest of this week, and if we’re gonna miss an update, check this space to find out. So for now enjoy the petty bickering of Rutan and Lara-Su.

Wednesday’s update will be late. But it WILL be up on wednesday, come hell or high water.

Kamal

Here’s hoping Gear gets better soon.

Well, here it is at last. Welcome, one and all, to our latest extended storyline: the Mobius 25 Years Later parody. Hey, wait, where are you going?

Well, if you could figure out who that is in today’s comic, revel in the joke along with us. If you don’t know, tune in Monday and I promise we’ll be funnier.

No comic Friday, Gear’s caught a cold.

Kamal

I’m never using LOTR sprites ever again.

I think what he means to say is that we have made a terrible mistake that we will be paying for for a long time to come. Boy, you try to be nice to someone and what do you get? A retard on speed!
